The Manor Park School Council (MPSC) is the parent volunteer organization that manages all the fundraising activities for the school. All funds raised by the MPSC are used for school activities such as:

  • Providing bussing for class field trips
  • Providing special programming like Scientists in the School
  • Purchasing music equipment for classes
  • Assisting teachers with materials for in-class activities
  • Purchasing electronic equipment for school usage (camera, microphone, sound system, video camera, etc.)

Without the funds raised by the Manor Park School Council – MPSC, (and formerly the Home and School Association), many of the initiatives listed above would simply not happen. Funds are raised by the MPSC through three main initiatives:

Pizza Lunch – occurs weekly throughout the school year

Pizza Thursdays, along with our other fundraisers generate funds that go back into the school to help purchase resources that benefit our student body as a whole so we really appreciate all of your assistance in making it another successful year!
Parent volunteers come in to the school to help collect the orders, count the money and compile the class lists.  We also have a wonderful group of volunteers who come in on a rotational basis to help on the actual day of pizza from 12:30-1:30.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please feel free to contact me, Wendy Colthart at
If you aren’t able to volunteer, you can certainly help us out by ensuring that your pizza order is handed in by the due date with the exact payment (in cash) as we cannot make change.
To avoid having a hungry and unhappy child, please be sure to get your orders in on time; in fact, the sooner the better!
We do our best to ensure that each student gets exactly what they ordered but it is quite the undertaking to provide pizza for the hundreds of students that place orders. If your child comes home with a pizza related problem, please contact me right away so that I can remedy the situation as quickly as possible.
This year’s pizza fundraiser will run in three 12 week sessions:
  1. Sept. 21 – Dec. 7 Order forms were due Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 *Pizza lunches start Thursday, September 21st!
  2. Dec. 14 – March 22 Order forms due Monday, Dec. 11, 2017
  3. March 29 – June 21 Order forms due Monday, March 26, 2018
The purple (so they stand out!) pizza order forms go out a week and a half before the next session is to start so that there is time to compile new lists and reorder andwithout having to miss a week of pizza Thursdays. Keep your eyes peeled as:

Mabel’s Labels – Click here to support the Manor Park School Council and buy labels:  Customers know the benefits of labeling their items, and orders are placed throughout the year, not just during the back-to-school season.  Labels are a great way to save going to the Lost & Found!  Mabel’s Labels have labels for backpacks, shoes, pencils, sweaters, jackets, and any type of item.  You can purchase packs to give out for birthday parties, small packs for a few items or larger packs for many items.  Commissions from the sale of these labels are returned to MPSC!  We hope you enjoy the labels AND not losing your child’s belongings!  You’ll see “You are supporting:Manor Park School Council (Ottawa)” in the top left corner.  If not, then choose Manor Park School Council in the drop down menu.  Tell your friends about this great fundraiser!


We host a Scholastic Book Fair every November.   The sale usually takes place mid-November, Tuesday – Friday, in the small gym.  All proceeds from this fundraising event go towards stocking our Library with excellent learning materials for the students.
The sale this year was held Tuesday, November 21st to Friday, November 24th.  Thanks to all who came out to buy books and support this fundraiser.  Many thanks also to the volunteers!

Dance-A-Thon – The 6th annual Dance-A-Thon was held on Friday, February 9th, 2018.  This is a major fundraiser supporting the school’s Healthy Active School initiative as well as to show our school spirit!  All students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 participated.  In addition to collecting donations, each student danced between 30 to 50 minutes with their classmates.  The dancing was fantastic as the students cheered on their DJ!  There were disco balls, great music and prizes won!

Plant Sale

“The Annual Plant Sale was held Saturday, May 19th!  A large selection of spring annuals and hanging baskets were available for purchase between 8am and 3pm in front of the school at the corner of Hemlock and Braemar.  A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped sell plants at this fundraiser run by the Home and School Association!
